After Ouk Sokun Kanha came back from the USA this year, a couple of things had happened one after another. First she suddenly left U2 Productions for Rock Productions which is a relatively new music production company. There was a rumor that the reason she left U2 because she had conflicts with Meas Soksophea who is one of U2’s top stars. However, Meas Soksophea told Angkorthom Magazine that she had a lot of respects for Ouk Sokun Kanha as a joint career friend. She was sorry to see Sokun Kanha leaving U2 Productions but she couldn’t do much to keep her. In addition, Meas Sok Sophea also told Angkorthom Magazine that she and Ouk Sokun Kanha did not have any conflicts and that they were still friends thought they don’t work together any more. On the Channel 21 Star Program of CTN aired on 09/05/2007, Ouk Sokun Kanha appeared with other Rock Productions’ singers. She seemed to be every happy joining Rock Productions. She said she had a few songs with Rock Productions already. Ouk Sokun Kanha did not say anything about why she left U2, but she said she was happy to be with Rock Productions because Rock Productions promotes writing own music and songs – instead of taking music or songs from other countries and change them.

A more recent news article released by Everyday stated that Ouk Sokun Kanha has now awarded a 5 year contract by Rasmey Hang Meas Productions. Ouk Sokun Kanha had told Angkorthom Magazine that she had signed a contract with Rasmey Hang Meas for five years. There was no information as to what kind of a contract she had signed with Rasmey Hang Meas and if the contract will require her to quit all other work for other music production companies. This was conflicting to what she said before that she did not like having a contract with any one music company but being an independent singer. Ouk Sokun Kanha said, “I was happy to be a singer for Rasmey Hang Meas. I will colaborate with other singers to make great songs instead of competing with them.” Rasmey Hang Meas is known to be one of the most stable music companies and there are a lot of singers who always want to work for Rasmey Hang Meas. This is clearly Ouk Sonkun Kanha’s smart move. Updated on 09/16/2007
